I love Fridays and I think this one will be decent as I do not have to work open to close. Woot Woot!

It’s fair time here and I think I may be skipping it this year. What? Don’t get me wrong, I am craving a funnel cake something fierce but the idea of the costs and all those people does not float my boat. Hell, getting to and from work for the last week and a half has been stupid. We’re a town of 30,000 and right now we’re probably clearing 100,000. And yes, we have that many hotels.
My summer TV binge continues. I finished Veronica Mars over the weekend. I then broke up with Hulu. I really did. Now, I’m on to Teen Wolf. Which I watched before and is surprisingly better than you think. Well, once you get past first season. That was pretty cheesy.
The heatwave is real but I’ve been at work all week and haven’t been able to leave so I feel like I’ve missed most of it. Ha!
I was giving directions in Spanish one day this week and totally blanked on the word 20. What? How basic is that??
Of all the bands at the fair so far, I could only hear a little from Blake Shelton and Cardi B. Why Don’t We has been the loudest so far. I heard nothing from Lynyrd Skynyrd. Really?
My training plan is all messed up this week. I may have given myself a concussion and I have to work on Saturday. Boo.
Have you seen the Old Glory shoes from Brooks? Someone tell me I don’t need these. It’s so hard to resist!
I don’t talk about work much other than to say it was busy, but it has seriously been insane the last few weeks. Like full moon crazy for weeks. What?!?! Why?!?
Do we want to place bets on if I will get up early to run on Saturday? You’d think I would learn but clearly I don’t. I wouldn’t even bet on me at this point.
I recently started rewatching Warehouse 13. I miss cheesy, awesome sci fi shows like that. Where did they all go?
I was social! Well, kind of. Networking is not my strongest skill. Socially awkward over here. But I went to the monthly mixer and was moderately social. It helps that it was small and at a very pretty location.
I was torn between 2 local 5K’s in the next week and then time passed for registration for the first. Oops. But seriously, how is it almost July??? I think I am in such denial about how fast time in flying these days.
Anyone else feel like running has lowered their standards on what is acceptable to wear in public post run??? I used to be pretty put together and now I’ll go around in just run in clothes with sweaty hair, looking haggard. Which might not be so bad if people from high school or elementary school didn’t suddenly decide to be everywhere lately. I’ve be recognized at the random-est times by people I don’t always remember lately. What?? People, I was recognized by someone from the office staff of my elementary school. How??? It’s been decades. Literally.
It’s time change weekend!! Woo hoo!!! Now I will complain when my complain when my alarm goes off on Monday… and Tuesday, etc but I am so looking forward to more daylight for my after work runs. I am sorry for everyone running a race this Sunday though.
Is anyone else watching Riverdale? Does anyone else feel old watching Luke Perry and Skeet Ulrich? Or is just me? 😛 And tell me, is that Zack or Cody?
For the first time in months, there is no rain in the forecast for at least 7 days. Yay!!! Now we just have wind. Boo. But the sun is marvelous. I really wish we had some sort of outside sitting area at work.
how about a sunset?
Speaking of work, the merger is going full steam. On a personal, whiny note, I learned that I have to start taking more normal lunches. Boo. My lunch is usually around 2:15 which is way past the 5 hour mark (CA law) but I signed a permanent waiver because my theory is that everyone else’s lunch was more important than mine. Well and I used to be exempt. I’ve adjusted to it over the years and now I like it. But things will change in April. But hey, maybe this will help my weird blood sugar issues?
I always start these posts with so much to tell you then forget half of it while I am typing. 😁
I may go shoe shopping this weekend. The Sayonara’s have worked but they aren’t awesome. My toes hurt after runs and my shins are not very happy. I am hopeful that Brooks fixed all of the problems with the Pure Flow 5’s and that the 6’s are much better. I’ve heard good things, so fingers crossed!
but then again, not really. I had a post mostly formed about insecurities and doubts but I am in an oddly good mood today and don’t want to spoil it. So, I’m gonna hold onto that one ok?
Like I said, oddly enough I am in a good mood. Not sure why, this week feels like it has been 10 days long already, Tuesday’s run was hard on the lungs and I’ve been hollered and lectured. But, like I said, odd good mood. The shoe can drop later, until then let’s talk about guilty pleasures.
Pizza– Duh, of course I was going to start here. Wednesday has kind of turned into my cheat pizza night. Last week, I was disappointed. I went to the usual place but the pizza was just meh. Kind of too saucy and not very warm. Boo. This week, they made up for it. Also, when this account follows you on Twitter, it may be a sign that you talk about pizza too much-
For real? White chocolate macadamia nut cookies– How have I never had one before?! You’ve probably heard me mention that we have cookie Friday for the customers at work. We are contemplating switching bakeries, so of course we have to try them all out. 😛 Seriously, this cookie was so good!
Sunsets– I mean look at this!!!! The run might have been rough and my lungs were pissed but look at that view! I also had a few tidal wave fears on this run but that’s not the point. (earthquake and no birds= creepy silence). Sadly, I sometimes forget that scenes like this are right outside the door at work. Seriously, I can see the harbor from the sidewalk. New security??
TV– I have odd taste in TV shows. Seriously between Teen Wolf and Downton Abbey– I think I run the gamut. They both air on nights when I am usually trying to type up a blog post. I spend more time staring at the tv screen than I do typing. At least I can say I finally have somewhat of a clue as to what is going in Teen Wolf. I was lost for like half the freakin’ season. And I promise it’s not as cheesy as it sounds. But let’s not talk about what else I watch right now.
My training journal– ok, this is actual guilt. I haven’t written in my training journal since the second week of January. Oops? I am so bad at keeping those!
Online shopping– Seriously, I browse websites all the time. I put things in my cart all the time. Then I let them sit there. I can’t remember the last time I completed a purchase.
Races– Like most of you, I want to run all the races!!! But I procrastinate registration, partly because I am gun shy but partly because I am lazy. But, guess who registered for Rock n Roll LA on the first day it opened? This Slacker did! Dude, that’s in October! I’m running it with Ashley and Heather and it’s gonna rock!!
And I thought I had more but I’ve forgotten what they were, oops!
